This is part of our Outspoken weekend of new performance from Arab artists, curated by Eckhard Thiemann.

Born from an Algerian family, Ahmed Khemis grew up in Tunisia, before working and settling in France. Muhanad Rasheed left Iraq as a refugee and after a period in Syria is now resident in Holland. Both artists speak about the conditions for dance in their countries and how migration and dislocation is affecting their work.

Our IDFB Outspoken Weekend is one of the outstanding projects granted the London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games. Find out more about the Inspire Mark here.
