IDFB Dance Challenge

To celebrate the nation’s love of dancing, International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) has challenged a number of local journalists and presenters, together with representatives from our sponsor, to show off their twinkle toes as they take on the IDFB Dance Challenge.

Seven participants have each been given a particular style of dance to master in the two months leading up to the festival. The novice dancers will attend weekly classes at DanceXchange, and the person who has made the most progress will be crowned the winner!

The participants are:
Kate Lawler from Kerrang! Radio will be learning Capoeira
Louisa James from ITV Central News will be learning ballet
Satnam Rana from BBC Midlands Today will be learning hip hop
Fionnuala Bourke from Birmingham Mail will be learning club jazz
Jodie Schofield from Smooth Radio will be learning musical dance
Paul Sargent from Brewin Dolphin will be learning tap
Keith Gabriel from Citigate PR will be learning contemporary

So, will there be lots of tears and tantrums? Watch this space, because we will be documenting their progress here through photos, videos and blog posts. To see how our brave participants are getting on with their classes go to the IDFB Blog.

Our participants will also be charting their own progress through their own publications, broadcasts and websites, so listen out for more details.
