IDFB at BDE 2010

BDE Reception

This week, myself and the IDFB team are mainly recovering from British Dance Edition 2010, a four day festival showcasing the best of British dance to delegates from around the world.  During this event, we hosted our second IDFB reception, revealing our 2010 plans to over 400 people working in the dance industry globally.

Delegates and invited guests gathered in the stunning surroundings of Town Hall to hear our plans, nibble on some canapés, enjoy a drink or two, and pick up their copies of the IDFB brochure.  All in all it was a great opportunity to promote the Festival, and we hope to see lots of the delegates back in Birmingham in April for IDFB events.

Coming soon… over the course of BDE, we interviewed several choreographers that will return to present work during IDFB, including Akram Khan, Arthur Pita, Salah El Brogy and Ahmed Khemis.  I’ll be posting their interviews over the coming days/weeks.

Get with the programme

Our theatre-style brochure is hot off the press this week and currently winging its way to over 24,000 people across Birmingham, the West Midlands, and beyond…

If you can’t wait for your copy to fly through your letterbox, or you’re not on our mailing list and prefer to browse through it online, check out the version our designers have uploaded to Issuu.

Tickets for most shows are now on sale, so if you see something that takes your fancy there’s no need to wait, you can buy right now by contacting the relevant venue. The only things you can’t book for at the moment are Family Weekend performances or our Outspoken season of new performance from Arab artists, but I’ll let you know when tickets are available for these.
