A new website and a Merry Christmas

Since the IDFB 2010 launch event in November we’ve been busy developing the new website which recently went live. Please have a look around it, just bear in mind that there are lots more performances and events yet to be finalised and added to the schedule. There’ll also be plenty of opportunities for you to take part in masterclasses, workshops and even some performances too.

Details will be added as soon as they’re confirmed, so expect plenty of updates in the New Year. To keep up with what’s happening you can check back on this website and sign up to our alerts on Facebook and Twitter.

The IDFB offices will be closed from Wednesday 23 Dec until Monday 4 Jan (during which time there’s some dance on TV – check out West Midlands Dance’s round-up).

In the meantime, everyone at IDFB wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Photos from the launch event

Our launch event was a spectacular affair. Fortunately we had a photographer on hand (the talented Ed Moore) to capture what happened.

Here are some photos from the collaborative performance featuring Rosie Kay Dance Company, 2FaCeD DaNcE Company, and cossack dancers Bruce Tetlow:

There are also photos from the speeches, the guests mingling before the event, group shots of those responsible for making the festival happen and a sneak peek at the launch event’s preparation.

We’ll be adding plenty more photos to the IDFB Flickr account – feel free to add us as a contact there.

And yes, the IDFB-themed cupcakes (made by Kiss Me Cupcakes) were delicious.

Rewired PR appointed

rewired-pr

Rewired PR has been chosen as the press agency for International Dance Festival Birmingham, starting in the new year.

The team, lead by Ruth Ward, has recently worked for an impressive range of creative and cultural clients including Screen WM, Punch Records, Hello Digital and Style Birmingham.

In the past few weeks they’ve also won the award for Oustanding Small Consultancy at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.

They’re on a roll at the moment, so we’re very much looking forward to working with them to get the word out about the 2010 festival!
